1. SHAPES & SIZES
The large brick format
This year in the world of tiles it’s all about the ‘kit-kats’. Gone are the days of metro and traditional bricks – kit-kats are the slightly thinner and longer version of the ever popular format. Be on the lookout for the new size, 90x30mm, giving them a more sophisticated and elegant look.
Creative tiling patterns
In 2017 be sure to opt for innovative, exciting tiling patterns. Instead of the traditional brickbond pattern, try the herringbone style - a layout that’s set to be big in the coming year.
Hexagons
If you’re planning to be bold with shapes, 2017 has lots in store for you. Consider some stunning hexagons - they are going to be seen everywhere this coming season and they suit all styles of interiors. Yes, even the classic Victorian interiors where you can use Original Style’s hexagonal Victorian Floor Tiles, paired with staggeringly beautiful traditional borders.

2. JEWEL-LIKE TONES
2017 will be all about rich, deep, vibrant greens and sultry blues, with names like Kale, Greenery, Lapis Blue and Niagara. You can find similar shades amongst Original Style’s products – check out the Victorian Green tiles (Artworks range) which are a true colour match for the green trend, richly toned and available in a glossy finish.

Or, if the jungle colour scheme isn’t for you, try moody blues instead. Choose tiles in Pantone’s Lapis Blue and Niagara - two blues on the opposite end of the scale. Lapis Blue is a strong colour - the Baroque Blue tile from the Artworks collection will work well here, just as the Winchester tile with the exact same name. Niagara on the other hand is more of a grey-blue, very similar to the Dulux Colour of 2017, called Denim Drift. To achieve this look try Original Style’s Filigree Blue Sky Blue, Sea Blue, Midnight Blue on brilliant white patterned tile from the Tapestry Collection for a good match.

3. PATTERNS
Pattern is big right now, both fashion and interiors. You will see modern zig-zags resembling the Art Deco style, some micro-florals and Moroccan inspirations as well.
Tiles are an excellent way to add instant colour and pattern to a scheme and – quite frankly - there’s nothing more stunning than walking into a kitchen or bathroom and seeing a statement floor.

4. CLASS & SCALE
Large format tiles are becoming increasingly popular. They are great for making a room appear bigger and if you choose light-toned tiles then they will also lighten up a room that lacks in natural light. Natural stone replicas – such as marble-effects – are both classy and timeless.

If your budget is limited opt for the Bianco Paonazzetto glazed porcelain tiles in natural, available in five different sizes (with 900 x 900mm being the largest). They offer the beauty of marble but without the cost, and they also fit into the increasingly popular return of natural materials. The finished effect is simply stunning and certainly recreates a luxurious hotel chic style. Team with shades of grey and gold fixtures for that extra bit of zing.
