With a spring in lockdown beckoning, what better time to freshen up your home office and bring the outdoors indoors?
The interior design team at artisan wallpaper company Feathr have put together six vibrant looks that combine home workspaces with energising green colour schemes and natural foliage. It's time to make your co-workers green with envy!

Feel the verdigris

If your workspace has an industrial feel, a patinated verdigris wall mural is an excellent way to add texture and elevate the functional mood to something more artistic.  The Jupiter wall mural, created by artist Jessica Wilde, is an excellent choice for this kind of space, with its incredible detailing and delicate wash of texture and colour.  Juxtapose the abstract design with a cool crisp aloe vera cactus for the final touch.

As busy as a bee

A simple Scandinavian style workspace is a great choice: fresh and functional, with a pleasing sense of instant organisation.  But Scandinavian no longer means a pure white space.
The Feathr team matched classic clean Nordic lines with the geometric honeycombs of the Persepolis wall mural, shown in its Pistachio colourway.  The structured honeycomb balances neatly against the simple lines of the Scandinavian furniture, whilst the gold detailing complements the birch wood detailing.  Finish with tropical plants that soften the formal lines of the wall mural and furniture.

Glam, bam, thank you ma’am

If you have a small workspace but still want to feel like a million dollars, the Feathr interiors team have the perfect solution for you.  The classic Art Deco styling of the Hermitage wall mural in Sage & Gold, creates the ideal backdrop for a little corner of luxury.
A simple gold lamp is the ideal companion to the gold detailing of the Hermitage wall mural, whilst the freshness of the pot plant provides a verdant partner to the warm earthy greens of the wall.  Finish with a textured velvet chair to bring a little slice of boutique hotel luxury into your own home.

Let in the elements

The Elemental wall mural goes back to nature: its inspiration comes from the marks that nature leaves on the planet, whether rocks striated by being dragged over each other, the force of a waterfall, or the drag of a receding wave on a shingle beach.  The Feathr team have used the Elemental wall mural to create a thoughtful, serene workspace which matches minimalist furnishings with the rich textures of the wall mural.
Each line of Elemental has been distressed by hand, creating a shimmering effect when set against the gold metallic background.  The lines also reflect the wire detailing of the desk chair, creating a conversation between the workspace and the wall.  The finishing touch comes with the tropical plants, kept at ground level to create the feeling of the workspace being set within nature.

Keep it fresh and coastal

The classic coastal look is perfect for a workspace - it's fresh, natural and, even if your holidays are some way off, you get a little flavour of beach life.  But the coastal look can easily become twee and cliched.
The Feathr team’s tip to avoid this is to use driftwood and dried flowers for detailing - creating a more modern, complex and textured finish.  Coastal demands simplicity, so the Bleinheim wall mural (shown in its Seafoam colour variant) is the perfect choice: its wide stripes add airiness and space, whilst the silver finish shimmers like a calm sea.

Great things happen when patterns clash

Energise your workspace by bringing together patterns with different moods.  The crisp modern lines of the mint green panelling provide the perfect foil to the chevrons of the Casablanca wall mural, shown here in its Naval colourway.
The depth of the grey-greens in the wall mural juxtapose against the fresh pistachio mint of the panelling, creating a conversation between chevrons and stripes.
Matching the battleship grey paint of the desk chair to the storm greys of the Casablanca wall mural is the final touch.  The heavy oak table adds to the masculine feeling of the space - it can be softened by introducing a light, flowering pot plant.
