Forget foreign holidays. If you want a guaranteed dose of sunshine this summer, British textile designer Jan Constantine has the perfect collection.

The Tropical Paradise is a collection of hand-embroidered cushions and wall hangings packed with exotic animals, luscious palms and exuberant animal prints to serve up a slice of paradise on the greyest of days.

“The return of the house plant was the inspiration behind this collection,” said Founder and Creative Director Jan Constantine. “Homeowners are increasingly embracing nature in their interior schemes and this collection takes this love of all things botanical and goes one step beyond by adding wild animals and tropical birds.”

Made from black, cream, red, blue or green wool and hand-embroidered, the collection has been a labour of love for Jan, who is famed for her Union Flag-inspired designs.

“There is a real pop art-esque feel to these designs and every time I look at them I can’t help but smile. They have an almost enchanting effect, bringing a touch of the tropics of the dullest of British days.”

The collection is available now from janconstantine.com and prices start at £110.
