Rume is an independent family owned furniture and interiors company established 10 years ago in East Sussex by Richard and Libby Baker. It is our enduring credo to delight in the beautiful and the beautifully crafted and to continue designing and making furniture in England to the very highest standards.
All rume sofas and chairs are designed by Richard Baker and manufactured in the family workshops where the Bakers have been producing fine furniture since the 1960's. Each piece is handmade to order using a wonderful mix of traditional skills and modern materials and allowing for complete individuality. You can specify the dimensions, the cushion type, the timber and stain and choose fabrics from our extensive range which includes the likes of Designers Guild, Kvadrat and Romo.
We have also gathered together an unrestrained collection of lighting, accessories and cushions, the idea being never to select items that simply blend or fade into the background but to source objects that not only hold their own but also work together. It is in fact an extension of what Richard and Libby have been doing for years in their own home, it is rume.
