Description
Antique domed steamer trunk by G G Peterkin of Aberdeen, with a hand decorated exterior and a partially fitted interior. This trunk dates from around 1880. These large travelling trunks were used on long sea and train journeys across the globe. This is a great example of a high quality trunk with its original internal tray and lining. The original owner's initials have been stencilled to the trunk's side.
The interior shows significant signs of wear.
Our hardwood chests and travel trunks are unusual and each differs in size, style, finish and the number of compartments inside them.
They would make a great feature in a living room, bedroom or in a study.
These distinctive old chests would make beautiful jewellery or memory box or a great place to put your valuables.
Size: W97 x D55 x H60 (38" x 22" x 24")
Please allow up seven working days for delivery.
Due their size / weight we are unable to accept orders for chests outside the UK.
Note: Our chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal. Please look at the photos to get an idea of their condition. For more information see our ethical policy for wooden furniture and wooden accessories.
