York wedding suppliers meet up for a collaborative photoshoot in a Secret Garden just outside York
York Wedding suppliers is a small dynamic group comprising of 20 members all living and working in York. One of the members Natalia Willmott, who owns My Billet Doux, a unique gift cushion, thought it would be a great idea to create a styled photoshoot to link all the talent together. “Collaboration is what small businesses need to raise their vibes and attract an audience. Recommending and sharing other people’s work as well as your own, particularly in the wedding industry, makes you connect with your clients on a more personal level”.
Natalia styled the photoshoot around the fabulous rambling rose Gislaine de Feligonde which grows several meters in height in her garden in Stillingfleet.
The Photoshoot which took place in mid-June was loosely inspired by the Secret Garden novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett which was based in Yorkshire and published in 1911.
Natalia says: “We have kept integrated certain elements of the novel such as roses, a ladder, a robin and key and every single member contributed by adding their products or services to the scene. We created this lovely soft image in pale pinks and coral to capture the English countryside and the romance of a wedding. A three-tier cake by baker Nicola who owns O’Crumbs decorated with flowers from Gaynor of Gayflowers and resting on a bark board from Treasured Occasions creates a beautiful focal point. Gaynor also created fabulous centrepieces and a bride’s bouquet with a variety of flowers and skeleton leaves which looked so beautiful with the wedding dress from Bridal Reloved a shop specialising in preloved dresses. The table and scene are also decorated with custom made stationery by Blush creations and beautifully scented candles favour by PQ soy wax candles and antique ribbons from My Billet Doux and pretty vintage combs by Unique hair combs. There is also stunning and elegant pieces of silver and pearl jewellery handmade by Jo Bagshaw and love not ring cushion by My Billet Doux.

The group is lucky to have three amazing photographers (Nikki Bowling, Nikki Hirst and Gareth Buddo and a videographer Alex Wamsley, who have captured images and videos in their own personal style and provided the group with fabulous images they can share.
Nikki Bowling, the photographer who founded the group says “The idea of the group is to form personal relationships so we can recommend each other with confidence and work together.. It is a great group and due to the fact that we meet on a regular basis, we are friends as well as colleagues. The photoshoot has given us a springboard to promote the group and we can’t wait to host our own very own wedding fair in September.”

We are doing a wedding fair at the Grange hotel on the 29th of September 11 am to 2 pm. We are happy to accept new members who complement our businesses and have the same friendly and customer focus as our other members and who are happy to collaborate and be present in a group.
