This Easter, more than ever, is a time for being creative, to make your home jolly and refresh your decor. Dig deep into your cupboards, become a DIYer and make ordinary eggs into works of art.

  1. Easter tree- Create a lovely tree from which you can hang eggs or Easter trinkets- on your daily walk you can collect fallen branches or if you have a garden bring some in from there. Put a few branches in a tall vase and add a few decorations – why not also add some lovely pictures of your family- or postcards you have received it will immediately add cheer to your home.
  2. Decorate with eggs and with chocolates- set a beautiful table with lovely napkins and place names and pop chocolates in cups or egg holders. If you are on your own you can create a beautiful tray instead. Create a bunny napkin – there are lots of tutorials online- it only takes a few minutes and it is fun to do.
  3. Do you have a soft toy bunny or bear? Pop a bow round its neck and create a little scene on a chair- a great one for the children to get involved.
  4. Bring in pastel colours- it’s time to bring those fresh colours in your home- a new pink- yellow or sage green cushion or throw…or look in your cupboards for anything that could add that fresh feel to your décor.
  5. Fill some vases with spring flowers from your garden or if you have artificial flowers create a new display.
  6. Wrap your shop bought eggs in lovely fabrics, napkins or scarves and tie them with ribbons and display them on a mantelpiece ready to hand out and devour.
  7. Create your own Easter bunting by cutting coloured card in eggs shapes and sewing a cotton thread through.
  8. Place speckled eggs on top of some of the potted plants you have to hide the earth and make it more festive.
  9. Create a little tableau in a bookshelf by hand lettering or printing out an Easter quote  such as "There are always flowers for those who want to see them." Henri Matisse or "That is one good thing about this world...there are always sure to be more springs."L.M Montgomery,  or "Let everything you do be done in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14
  10. Take pictures of what you have created and send them to your family and friends and exchange ideas on Social media.
