There might not be any wax in the new coaster collection from CONCRETE&WAX, but the hand poured luxury concrete more than compensates. Sold as a set of four, these sleek yet chunky coasters make an ideal house-warming gift, Christmas present or self-indulgent treat.

Each coaster is 9.5cm wide by 1cm thick and sits atop a branded cork base to protect surfaces and add stability. The sets are available in solid colours (£24), unique camouflage concrete (£28), or the latest addition of splatter concrete (£28). They are delivered beautifully tissue wrapped in a signature CONCRETE&WAX tube.

The new splatter concrete from CONCRETE&WAX has a lovely lockdown story behind its creation, when one home-schooling day Little Miss C&W asked if she could learn how to pour concrete like Daddy. So far so good... The brief however soon evolved into, “I want to do it like Jackson Pollock!” Much mess ensued, but the result of her concrete splattering inspired Mr Concrete to have a go himself and the splatter collection was born.

Each camouflage and splatter concrete design is truly one of a kind, however due to tiny air bubbles forming during the concrete curing process, every piece of concrete from the collection has unique surface characteristics ensuring the handcrafted beauty of the concrete shines through.

Note to editors:

CONCRETE&WAX is a modular, stackable collection of luxury concrete candle holders and fragranced natural wax candles, created to let you design the light in your home.

Established in November 2018 by design-duo Alex Sommer and Laura Keller of 2SOM Studio (a.k.a. Mr Concrete and Mrs Wax), the collection offers flexibility to introduce fragrant light – and style - into any home in many ways. The unique modular design of the holders and candles means they are interchangeable allowing for both complex stacking arrangements or simple low-key displays.

To ensure true craftsmanship all products are hand poured in small batches in their Suffolk workshop and to allow the concrete a long and happy life, each holder is also designed to fit any standard tealight.
