An online interior design service has launched to help homeowners identify their interior style ‘personality’.

Costing £145 per room or area, the in-depth consultancy is being offered by home décor brand Dowsing & Reynolds. The service aims to help homeowners create strong emotional connections with their homes through carefully selected interior design choices. It is completely virtual and led by the company’s in-house interior designers Xander Shreenan and Connor Prestwood.

An online personality quiz has been developed in collaboration with one of the country’s leading style psychologists, Kate Nightingale. Completing the questionnaire will reveal a profile of the client’s interior style ‘personality’ that the interior designers will use, alongside conversations with the client, to make personalised, unbiased design recommendations.

Consultations to discuss a client’s design brief will take place via Zoom. This will focus on how the client wishes to feel in the room (e.g. cosy, calm, inspired), taking into consideration colour, practicalities of the room, design details and existing furniture as well as their personality profile.

Once timescales have been agreed, the client will receive a detailed design rationale and comprehensive mood board with theme ideas and product recommendations to achieve the brief. Clients will be presented with a guide of where to start and what to do first to transform their space straight away. A second Zoom consultation will be arranged to discuss everything in detail and address any questions or feedback the client has.

Consultations will include unbiased product and design recommendations but as a sweetener, clients will also receive £65 credit to spend on the Dowsing & Reynolds website.

On launching the service, co-owner Ally Dowsing-Reynolds said, “We’re really excited about launching an online interior design service, not only to be able to offer it to clients all over the country, but to help homeowners achieve strong emotional connections with their homes. We’ve put a lot of thought into how we can create a unique, bespoke and professional yet approachable service that our clients wouldn’t receive elsewhere.

“It’s important we provide inspiration that goes beyond simple colour or product recommendations and delve deeper into how a client wishes to feel in that room, which is why we’ve worked closely with Kate Nightingale from Style Psychology to develop a unique personality questionnaire. Tapping into the emotional side of design and décor and taking into account their individual personality, our aim is always to surprise and delight the client.”
