The Basket Room is delighted to introduce a brand-new collection of woven basket designs for SS23. Drawing influence from blossoming florals, our GROW collection sees swathes of natural tones and soft pastels reminiscent of flourishing Spring and Summer gardens.
Left to right: HOJA Pinstripe Baskets from £27, VUTIA Pastel Stripe Laundry Basket £122, UMEME Lavender Pinstripe Baskets from £27
EVOLUTION: This collection of new designs captures stylish checks and fine pinstripes in blossom-inspired pastel tones, tie dye baskets boasting cloud-like swathes of tranquil blue, vintage pink and sapling green, and colour block baskets in lavender, soft yellow and baby blue. Each basket bears a small, removable card stitched into its base with the full name of the weaver who made it, bringing an awareness of its beginnings as each basket becomes part of a new life cycle. Produced in three handy sizes (some in two sizes), these baskets make perfect planters and desk tidies, storage for jewellery, toiletries and accessories, craft projects, remote controls and tech, toys and much more. The beauty of these baskets is that they will continue to grow with your home storage needs over time, finding new purposes as the years go by.

ROOTS: Being handcrafted from natural sisal grass in rural Kenya, these home storage baskets and planters serve as a timely reminder that the most meaningful belongings experienced a life before, and will stand the test of time through careful and honest craft. This collection encourages us to look to nature for healing, to slow things down and to grow your own way within nature’s sweet embrace. The Kenyan craftswomen who produce these woven baskets all learned to weave sisal from a young age, and work within a small craft collective in rural Kenya. The Basket Room visits this group regularly, and have built a strong bond with the craftswomen and their chairlady, over the years. The bulk of basket production takes place during Kenya’s dry seasons, since most of these weavers are from farming communities who rely on farming – and therefore, steady rainfall - to feed, support and clothe their families. When farming slows down, weaving work steps up.
The Basket Room creates beautiful collections of handwoven, decorative storage baskets for the home. Woven with stunning colours & unique patterns, we work with small craft collectives in Africa to bring you ethical, stylish accessories with a story.
