Tap into the alfresco Afternoon Tea trend with Victoria Eggs and My English Country Cottage

The popularity of Afternoon Tea experiences is increasing year on year; on Instagram, the #afternoontea tag has a whopping 7.1 million posts, in comparison to 6.2 million in 2023. With more people opting to eat in rather than eat out in the last few years, what better time to host an Afternoon Tea at home! Rebecca Lovatt, AKA myenglishcountrycottage, shows how to create the perfect alfresco Afternoon Tea from her beautiful garden in Cambridgeshire.

The decadent Afternoon Tea collection was inspired by Victoria’s love of this quintessentially British ritual.

The delicate design features hand-drawn delices normally presented at afternoon high tea — macarons, scones, and finger sandwiches, bowls of sugar cubes and teapots stand side by side with strainers, cupcakes, and forks; and delicate flutes of champagne, filled with decadent bubbles.

“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.” - Henry James

All Victoria Eggs products are hand-crafted right here in the UK. The fine bone china ceramics are made of the finest Cornish clay, and the textiles are printed onto unbleached 100% cotton using plant dyes that are environmentally friendly.

The collection includes a mug, tea cup and saucer, tea towel, bauble, apron, double oven glove, canvas bag, English breakfast tea, shortbread biscuits, and coasters.

The collection is available on the Victoria Eggs website now.

About Victoria Eggs

Hand-drawn homeware by award-winning British designer Victoria Eggs, made in the UK.

Victoria Eggs homeware is born from Great-British moments; the nostalgic whiff of salt and vinegar-y chips at the seaside, quirky colloquialisms, our Royal family, London. We’re as British as the cuppa. In fact we’ve a day dedicated to celebrating our favourite brew. #teatuesday

All our products are hand-illustrated by Victoria, and lovingly made in the UK. Our mugs (tea tastes better in a Victoria Eggs Mug BTW), are hand-crafted and decorated in Staffordshire, using traditionally mined Cornish Clay. And our textiles come from Lincolnshire, printed with water-based ink (which has virtually no impact on the environment).

“All my designs are snapshots of special moments in time we wish to cherish forever and gift to those we love most.”

From heart to home.
