Who is Twisted Loom?

Twisted Loom was founded in Manchester England, by Designer-Maker Charlotte Cochrane.

Twisted Loom creates handcrafted, long-lasting furniture and homewares with a focus on sustainability.

How it began

Initially working as an upholsterer, Charlotte's upholstery haven evolved into a handcrafted haven in 2020, designing and making furniture and homewares that sing with British character. She sought to harness local talent and premium British materials to create beautiful products that would last. A bit like the Arts & Crafts Movement, she wanted to create pieces with soul, handcrafted with meticulous care, not churned out on factory lines. This, her “hyper-local” mission took shape, fueled by a desire for sustainability and mindful consumption.

The cornerstone

Thoughtful furniture, not fast furniture. Luscious wools from Yorkshire’s oldest mills, salvaged wood and hand-turned legs and lamps by Twisted Loom's very own Wood Man extraordinaire, Phil. This isn’t just furniture; it’s a story of craftsmanship.

• Minimal packaging: Reusing old bubble wrap and cardboard. This is mostly donated by our local deli, which also sells deliciously warm Pain au Chocolat!
