New research from Beautiful Walls shows dark interiors with a feminine edge will dominate bedroom schemes in 2024

Brooding wallpapers with a feminine edge are going to be big news in 2024, according to new research from family-run wallpaper retailer Beautiful Walls.

Using data from Pinterest trends, Beautiful Walls have found that searches for ‘dark feminine bedroom’ are up 50% over the last month, and 400% over the last year.

Tim Dixon, Managing Director of Beautiful Walls, said: “We are seeing a switch on the idea of traditional femininity. Instead of light shades and airy pastels, we are seeing rich jewel tones and moody darks like charcoal and navy being embraced.

“The beauty lies in the contrast. Deep colours create a sense of drama and intimacy, a perfect backdrop for layering on the feminine touches. Think floral damasks in unexpected colourways, or textured velvets with a subtle sheen. It's all about creating a space that feels luxurious, mysterious and utterly unique.”
