DJECO CELEBRATES 70 YOUNG YEARS !

THE FAMOUS FRENCH TOY COMPANY IS CELEBRATING ITS 70TH BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR, AND STILL RETAINS ITS CHILDLIKE SPIRIT & CREATIVITY.

In 1954, at a time when few mothers were starting their own business, Véronique Michel-Dalès created "Les Jeux du Djeco". Her collection, which was both educational and fun, was an instant success and Véronique's talent was rewarded in the 1960s with 4 Toy Oscars.

In 1989, Frédéric Michel-Dalès, who had been chief tester of his mother's inventions throughout his childhood, took over the family business, which was dormant at the time. With a heritage of fantasy and imagination, he imported new toys to France from all over the world then he decided to create products that could not be found anywhere else.

Today, in the historic Parisian workshops nestling near the Seine, 70 enthusiasts work very seriously, without ever taking themselves too seriously, to amaze children all over the world. With total freedom and no regard to commercial constraints, they come up with funny, beautiful and intelligent games for young and old alike.

ANTI CONFORMIST ARTISTIC APPROACH

Illustration lies at the heart of Djeco’s approach. Today, more than 200 artists from all backgrounds, established oremerging, infuse their original creations with that distinctive arty touch that defines Djeco! Enchanting children while introducing them to art is what sets Djeco apart in an industry still largely dominated by conformity.

CREATIVITY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Today nestled near the Seine, in Djeco’s historic workshops, is a team of 70 passionate people that nurture their child-like spirits. 30 of which work developing smart, design-led toys and games. They are constantly reinventing a newworld for children, with total freedom that leaves plenty of room for enjoyment and defy commercial constraints. Around Djeco revolves an entire galaxy of artists, designers, and inventors.

ECO-DESIGN

Today 79% of all wooden and cardboard Djeco products are FSC® certified. Packaging sizes are optimised and since 2021, single-use plastics in both inside and outside product packaging have been eliminated.

Djeco has over 1,600 original toys spread across 3 catalogues to accompany children’s development: 1-Toys and Games, 2- Arts & Crafts, 3- Lifestyle.. Djeco is now a global brand distributed in over 70 countries around the World. To celebrate its anniversary, a magic ticket will be slipped into 70 jigsaw puzzle "La Petite Boutique Djeco" boxes.

Each winner will not only have the chance to choose a gift from among the toys in the "Djeco Gazette" catalogue but will also be helping 70 children in hospital. In all, 770 gifts were distributed!

Djeco is a partner of the "Blouses Roses" association. After 7 decades, the brand's little lucky gecko is ready to enchant many more generations of children...
