Sustainable Style

Black By Design puts eco-friendly furnishings in the spotlight

April might be Earth Month but luxury homeware retailer Black By Design is encouraging homeowners to consider more sustainable purchases all year round.

The independent interiors brand wants consumers to invest in quality pieces that are not only built to last but transcend styles to ensure they never date.

Lynette Pym, Co-Founder of Black By Design, said: “There has been a huge move towards sustainability within interior schemes. And for me, the way forward is investing in quality pieces that will look great for decades and become heirlooms of the future.”

Among the ranges stocked by Black By Design is Danish interiors brand Normann Copenhagen – whose statement Bit collection of chairs and tables are crafted from recycled plastic waste.

And not only is this great for the environment, but it’s good for homeowners in search of unique pieces.

Because of the manufacturing process involved, every item in the collection varies ever-so slightly, so it is truly one of a kind.

Lynette said: “We adore the Bit Collection. These are distinctive pieces designed to wow. But it’s not just the collection’s great looks we love; we adore the fact each piece is made from recycled plastic.

“The range proves eco design can still push boundaries on the design front.”

The versatile range includes a side table that also doubles as a stool, a lounge chair that can be used both inside and out, and a coffee table to complete the look.

They are available in a range in black and white colourways, as well as a ‘multi’ variant which includes flecks of colour.

The Bit Collection by Normann Copenhagen is available now from Black By Design, with prices starting at £200.
