A contemporary gem at the foot of Vesuvius
At the foot of Vesuvius lies a 90 m² open space that combines functionality and refinement. The project, designed by architect Maurizio Vesce, aimed to optimise space without sacrificing elegance, and naturally featured parquet flooring by Listone Giordano, a global benchmark in the high-end wood flooring sector. The Classica collection, in the moon grey version, envelops the home, giving it warmth, while the black boiserie conceals secret passages and wardrobes, creating a dramatic effect.
The project
The aim of the project was to optimise the space to create rooms that are both functional and elegant through careful research into the materials used. Dark-toned parquet flooring laid in a herringbone pattern gives the home a sense of intimacy. The common thread is the black, thousand-line textured panelling that curves along the rooms and conceals passageways and wardrobes behind it. From the black lacquer of the living area to the white lacquer of the sleeping area, the home is divided into two distinct parts by a full-height pivot door integrated into the entrance panelling.
There are two small bathrooms, one serving the bedroom, decorated with marble-effect stoneware. In the shower, small raised tiles interrupt the continuity of the slabs. The second bathroom, covered in Ceppo di Gre stone and mud-grey resin, features a caterpillar yellow bathroom cabinet. Finally, there is a laundry room hidden behind large sliding doors along the corridor of the sleeping area.
The separation between the living and sleeping areas is clear, marked by a pivot door integrated into the entrance panelling. The living room, with black lacquered details and the Standard sofa by Francesco Binfaré for Edra, dialogues with the Modulnova kitchen, where black is the protagonist.
