Coastal-inspired art studio Beach House Art is putting a fresh spin on its original artwork in two reimagined collections.
The studio has taken its original shell collection, hand-painted by Beach House Art’s Creative Director Brian MacShane, and created two distinctive new takes.
The first uses bold coastal stripes to frame the intricately-detailed shells. Available in a range of colourways, including a sea blue and on-trend moss green, the striped prints bring a joyful rhythm and character to walls.
Brian said: “There is something about the coast that goes hand in hand with stripes. Perhaps it’s the memories of deckchairs or classic Breton shirts.
“When we started experimenting with our shell artwork, using the striped background to frame each piece, it brought out a more playful side.”
In contrast, Beach House Art’s second new range sees a more serious stance.
In this collection, Brian’s artwork is set against a statement black background. Reminiscent of early Victorian botanical lithographs, the backdrop brings to life the delicate shell design.
Brian added: “The juxtaposition of the fine detail of the ivory shell against the midnight black backdrop is a stunning example of contemporary elegance. It offers a beautifully sophisticated take on classic coastal art.”
Each collection is made up of four different hand-painted shell designs featuring scallops, whelks, cowries and clams.
Both collections are available now from Beach House Art. Prices for The Vintage Stripe Collection start at £18 for an unframed print, while prices for the Hand-Painted Shell Collection on Black Background start at £32.
