The brand Sarah Savery-Smith (formerly Sarah Savery) focuses on using luxury designer fabrics such as the brand Mulberry Home to create sumptuous cushions but sourcing them at knock down prices. The idea is each collection is curated to introduce pops of colour and texture to enable the customer to create a layered look in their home, as if they have used an interior designer. Each of the collections are named after towns or villages in the Cotswolds where they are handmade and mixing and matching between collections can also work. The model also works for the scrunchies created primarily from Italian and French designer fabrics, including silks, Liberty Tana Lawn cottons, faux furs and suede with seasonal collections being key. Having only recently established a website, the brand now has ambition to grow through PR and social media platforms. It also differentiates itself from the market competition with quality of content, both image and copy.
Previously, the business under the name Sarah Savery, was the first to supply scrunchies to Harrods and then to Liberty, Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason, Peter Jones, Galeries Lafayette, Paris, Champneys, Harvey Nichols, Fenwicks and many top end boutiques across the country for over 10 years. Based in Gloucestershire the business had a team of local outworkers and saw the product line evolve to include scarves, faux fur hats, waistcoats, wash bags and cushions.
