Luxury homeware retailer Olivia’s share their Interior Trend Predictions for 2026

2026 looks set to be a transformative year for interior trends, according to the Interior Designers at luxury homeware retailer Olivia’s.

From a new take on vintage-inspired spaces to the rise of muted industrialism, the new year will usher in a fresh era of interior style.

Faye Simons, Head of Interior Design at Olivia’s, said: “The new year brings with it a sense of new beginnings and many homeowners want to channel this energy into the home.

“And fortunately, there is so much to get excited about as we head into 2026.”

Here Faye shares her top four interior trend predictions for 2026:

Soft Industrial Warmth

Industrial style shifts into a gentler, more habitable direction. Think softened metals, smooth concrete finishes, rounded forms and richer hues like teals, earthy greens and burnished browns.

Faye said: "Embrace textures like brushed metal, soft boucle and aged woods to balance out the rawness, to create a space that feel both urban and warm.”

The Lived-In Look

Cosy comforts will take centre stage as homes lean into a relaxed, homely, lived-in feel. Think plush upholstery, sink-in seating, gentle layering, warm colour palettes and tactile fabrics that invite touch.

Faye said: “Wabi-sabi influences and subtle imperfections give spaces character and make them feel grounded, authentic and lived-in. This is not about creating a perfect show home, it’s about making a space that works for your lifestyle.”

Elevated Minimalism

We're expecting minimalism to mature in 2026, becoming warmer, more nuanced and more expressive. Clean lines will remain, but are softened with curves, layered neutrals, natural textures and an emphasis on purposeful design.

Faye said: “This trend is about minimalism that feels lived with, not looked at. This is about curating a beautiful home that feels restful and refreshing.”

Modern Vintage Fusion

2026 will continue the love affair with vintage, but with an emphasis on mixing eras for a personal, collected aesthetic. Antique woods with contemporary lines, vintage silhouettes reimagined in modern fabrics and curated one-off finds paired with clean modern pieces will reign.

Faye said: “This trend is about creating a space that is bursting with authenticity and personality. It’s about embracing those interior influences that truly speak to you. The result is soulful, character-rich interiors that balances nostalgia with modern polish.”
