Use throws and layer bedding

One of the quickest ways to infuse that warm and cosy ambiance we all crave, especially during the cooler months, is by incorporating layers of soft furnishings into our bedrooms. Adding elements such as throws, cushions, and curtains can transform your sleeping space into a snug haven. Cleverly layered textiles not only establish a cohesive bedroom aesthetic but also contribute to a comforting atmosphere. The choice of soft furnishings significantly influences the overall feel of the room. Thoughtfully layer plains and patterns; when opting for bold patterns on bedding or curtains, consider keeping the cushions in a plain design or selecting a solid fabric for the bedding while experimenting with a mix of colours and patterns for the throw pillows.

Consider Colour and Accent Shades

Warm colours are often favoured for the winter months as they create a cosy feel - colours that evoke a sense of warmth include rich reds and oranges, golds, mustard, and berry shades. Avoid the icy embrace of cool tones like blues and greys, and opt for warmer hues such as earthy neutrals, soft blush pinks, or gentle greens. Use these colours in layers of soft furnishings, such as throws, cushions, and curtains and you’ll soon find your room feeling warm and snug creating a sense of comfort which is known to boost well-being.

Choose Quality Curtains to trap heat

Good quality lined curtains are worth the investment. They are suitable all-year-round offering temperature control and privacy and their ability to help keep the cold air from seeping into the home makes them particularly useful during the autumn and winter months.

Blackout and thermal linings are great for bedroom curtains as they help to keep the room warm, increase energy efficiency, and block out unwanted light promoting a good night's sleep. Thermal linings will greatly reduce the amount of heat that may escape your room via your windows helping your bedroom to feel much warmer.

Consider combining both blinds and curtains to create a snug and energy-efficient bedroom, blinds nestled in the window recess will complement lined curtains perfectly, offering added insulation.
