Blending the glamour of Art Deco with a softer, more contemporary edge, Neo Deco is set to be one of the biggest interior trends of 2026.
Defined by sculptural forms, rich finishes and a confident use of contrast, the trend focuses on creating a space that feels luxurious yet liveable.
According to the design team at luxury retailer Olivia’s, Neo Deco is at its best when it’s layered thoughtfully and allowed to breathe.
Rather than overcrowding a space, focus on a few sculptural elements and build around them. A statement mirror, elegant side table or oversized accessory can anchor a room and set the tone for the rest of the scheme.
Faye Simons, Head of Interior Design at Olivia’s, said: “Neo Deco interiors are all about confident shapes and elegant proportions. Start with one or two standout pieces and let them dictate the flow of the room, rather than trying to introduce everything at once.”
According to Faye, material choice is key to achieving the Neo Deco look without tipping into pastiche. Think polished metals, marble accents and tactile textiles, balanced with softer, contemporary finishes.
Gold-toned accessories, such as a striking vase, add instant glamour, while a statement mirror with strong geometric elements introduce Deco geometry in a refined, modern way.
Faye said: “The beauty of Neo Deco today is that it feels lighter and more relaxed than traditional Art Deco. Mixing luxurious materials like marble or metallics with woven fabrics or muted tones keeps the look current and inviting.”
While classic Art Deco leans heavily into bold colour contrasts, Neo Deco favours depth and texture. Warm neutrals, soft browns and inky blacks create a rich backdrop without overwhelming the space. Cushions are an excellent way to introduce subtle texture, while sculptural accents like a black, marble tray add contrast and polish.
Faye said: “Texture plays a huge role in Neo Deco interiors. Layering smooth, reflective surfaces with tactile fabrics stops the scheme from feeling too formal and makes it much more liveable.”
Faye added: “Neo Deco should feel effortless. It’s about borrowing the elegance of Art Deco and interpreting it in a way that suits modern living.”
Olivia’s range of Neo Deco-inspired homeware accessories are available now, with prices starting at £51.
