Tinker & Tallulah unveils Biba-inspired lampshade collection

Luxury British lampshade brand Tinker & Tallulah has unveiled The Deco Glamour Edit: a limited-edition collection of handmade lampshades inspired by the decadent spirit of 1970s design and the enduring influence of the Biba legacy.

The collection was created as part of The Biba Story: 1964–1975 at Dovecot Studios in Edinburgh. This immersive exhibition explores the impact of one of Britain’s most influential fashion and lifestyle brands, tracing Biba’s journey from mail-order beginnings to a defining force in 1960s and 70s style.

The Deco Glamour Edit is Tinker & Tallulah’s tribute to Biba’s inimitable style. Comprising five swishy shades, the line-up takes its cues from the brand’s moody palettes, bold graphics and rebellious attitude.

The result is a collection of statement lampshades that bring vintage drama to modern spaces, all finished with Tinker & Tallulah’s signature tassels. Each design is named after a female icon of the era: Barbara Hulanicki (Biba’s founder), Bianca Jagger, Brigitte Bardot, Marianne Faithfull and Mary Quant.

Racheal Millband, co-founder of Tinker & Tallulah, said:

“Collaborating with the Dovecot Studios team was a real joy. The Deco Glamour Edit is an invitation to embrace a little drama at home – rich colour, beautiful texture, and pieces that make you smile every time you switch the light on. We loved leaning into the expressive glamour of the era, and we’re thrilled to finally share the collection with our customers.”

The Deco Glamour collection is handmade to order, and will only be available for a limited time, reflecting the brand’s slow, considered approach to design.

The lampshades are suitable for floor lamps, table lamps and ceiling pendants and come in the following sizes: small (35cm) and large (45cm). They’re available to order now at tinkerandtallulah.co.uk, with prices from £220.
