2. Delicate Florals – a softer take on nostalgia 

Florals remain a spring staple, but this season we see a growing love for ditsy, small-scale floral patterns. Inspired by heritage prints and vintage textiles, this trend connects closely to the ongoing cottagecore movement – where romantic, lived-in spaces take center stage. These smaller, more intricate florals create a gentle rhythm on the wall, offering a subtle alternative to larger statement prints while still adding personality and charm.

“We’re seeing a clear shift towards softer, more nostalgic interiors. Ditsy florals bring a sense of comfort and familiarity – they make a space feel personal rather than styled,” says Katarina Matsson, design advisor at Photowall.

Moving away from strict symmetry, these patterns bring energy and personality into a space, balancing familiarity with a contemporary edge.

“Checks are one of those patterns that never really disappear – but right now they’re less polished and more playful. It’s about embracing imperfection and adding personality,” says Katarina Matsson, design advisor at Photowall.

“Stripes are incredibly versatile – they can be subtle or bold, classic or contemporary. Right now, we see people using them more creatively, especially on ceilings, to completely transform a space,” says Katarina Matsson, design advisor at Photowall.



Get the look: Use vertical stripes to enhance ceiling height, or bold horizontal stripes to create a statement. Extending the pattern onto the ceiling adds a modern, immersive feel to any room.
