HUSK x Ro Projects Launch Kitchen Collection

New Painted Kitchen Door Collection Launch

HUSK, the Bristol-based kitchen makers, have partnered with interior design studio Ro Projects to launch a new collection of painted timber kitchen doors, combining HUSK’s accessible custom kitchen approach with Ro Projects’ artistic exploration of colour.

The collaboration began following a chance meeting in Copenhagen after a design show, where a shared interest in materiality, colour, and craftsmanship led to early conversations about creating a painted door range together. With both studios based in Bristol, the collection was developed through close collaboration, allowing the teams to test tones, finishes, and materials through hands-on sampling and refinement.

The range introduces 11 curated colours designed to work individually or together across a kitchen scheme. Developed through an iterative process of colour testing and adjustment, the palette reflects Ro Projects’ artistic approach to interiors and founder Rosa Roig-Fiol’s work as a practising artist, translated into a practical format suitable for everyday kitchens.

The collection is compatible with IKEA METOD, Howdens, DIY Kitchens, and HUSK cabinetry systems, providing flexibility for a wide range of kitchen projects. The range will be available from March 2026, with lead times of approximately 8–12 weeks. Prices start from £3,950 for a small kitchen. The collection can be viewed at HUSK’s new Christmas Steps showroom, 9 Christmas Steps, Bristol, BS1 5BS. Photography by Paul Whitbread & Leighton James.

Each door is made to order using a moisture-resistant MDF core with FSC-certified Crown Ash timber veneer, hand-sprayed in Bristol using a water-based coloured finish. The process allows a subtle wood grain to remain visible through the painted surface, adding natural texture while ensuring durability and a low-impact production method.

"Rosa’s artistic approach to colour brought a new perspective to how we think about painted kitchens. The collaboration allowed us to develop a range that feels distinctive while still practical for everyday use"

- Dave Young, Co-Founder of HUSK

Speaking about the collaboration, Rosa Roig-Fiol, founder of Ro Projects, says:

“Our collaboration with HUSK grew organically from a shared interest in colour and material. Working closely together allowed us to test and refine a palette that feels considered and adaptable to different homes.”

HUSK co-founder Dave Young adds:

“Rosa’s artistic approach to colour brought a new perspective to how we think about painted kitchens. The collaboration allowed us to develop a range that feels distinctive while still practical for everyday use.”

About HUSK

HUSK was founded with a straightforward idea: bespoke kitchens shouldn’t be out of reach. We create timeless, design-led kitchens by pairing cabinet systems from IKEA, Howdens or DIY Kitchens with our handcrafted HUSK fronts, made in Bristol by our team of designers and makers.

We believe a kitchen should be built around you – your space, your budget, and your lifestyle. That might mean choosing HUSK fronts for your new kitchen plans, designing fully bespoke cabinetry, or blending the two for something completely unique. Whatever route you take, you’ll always get the same attention to detail, longevity, and quality craftsmanship.

Our process is designed to be as straightforward as possible. From your first conversation with us through to installation, we’ll guide you with clarity and care. No fluff, no fuss.

We offer a curated selection of finishes that takes the overwhelm out of decision-making, while ensuring every combination feels cohesive and considered. Our kitchens are crafted from responsibly sourced materials and made in our Bristol workshop, where precision machinery and our dedicated team of makers help us deliver quality while keeping waste low.

Our Story

HUSK was created in 2018 by Dave Young and Ross Norgate, who spent more than a decade building a reputation for meticulous joinery under their furniture studio Young & Norgate. They wanted to bring that same level of craft to kitchens, but in a way that was flexible and more accessible. Today, HUSK continues to grow with that same belief: kitchens should be as considered as the rest of your home, without compromising on design or durability.
