Here are three key styles defining the season. 

1. Coastal – A Breezy State of Mind 

The coastal aesthetic is having a strong moment this summer. Rooted in ease and familiarity, it brings together sun-washed tones, natural materials, and an effortless way of living, creating spaces that feel light, inviting, and timeless.

How to style it: 

Start with a base of soft whites and light blues to create a fresh, airy foundation. Layer in linen, jute, and washed cotton alongside weathered wood for a relaxed, grounded feel. Finish with rattan details, hydrangeas, shells, and ocean-inspired details. 

2. Popping Colors – A Burst of Summer Energy 

This summer, bold and vibrant colors take center stage. After seasons of muted tones, we see a renewed appetite for playful, expressive interiors, where color is used to energize spaces and reflect a more optimistic mood. 

“We’re seeing a real shift towards more expressive interiors. Color has become a way to bring energy and optimism into the home, something many people are looking for right now,” says Katarina Matsson, Design Advisor at Photowall. 

How to style it: 

Start with a bold statement wall, mural, or artwork and let it set the tone. Pair with neutral furniture for balance, or layer complementary colors for a more playful look. Add glossy or reflective materials to create a dynamic, uplifting space. 

3. Mediterranean – Texture, Light and Slow Living 

Inspired by sun-drenched villas and a slower pace of life, the Mediterranean trend is all about texture and depth. This season, we see a growing desire for interiors that feel grounded and authentic, with surfaces shaped by sun, sea, and time. 

“We see a clear shift towards more tactile interiors. Texture motifs add depth in a quiet way, creating spaces that feel lived-in and personal,” Says Katarina Matsson, Design Advisor at Photowall. 

How to style it: 

Choose wallpapers and murals inspired by limestone, plaster, or marble to create a warm, natural base. Combine with materials like terracotta, stone, wood, linen, and wool for a layered look. Add open shelves, handmade ceramics, vintage pieces, and touches of Mediterranean blue to complete the space.
