not just a shop, University of the Arts London's not-for-profit retail space championing emerging creative talent, is proud to introduce the Class of 2026, eight exceptional designers selected through its annual Open Call.


Showcasing the breadth of creativity emerging from the UAL community, this year's collection features handcrafted ceramics, joyful illustrations, contemporary knitwear, colourful homeware and an imaginative new range of pet accessories. The selected designers include current students, recent graduates and alumni, each bringing a creative perspective and commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship.


The Class of 2026 reflects not just a shop's ongoing mission to support early-career creatives by providing a platform to launch and grow their businesses while connecting customers with original, responsibly made products.

Meet the Class of 2026

Sofia Johnston

Sofia Johnston is an illustrator and animator from London. Their creative practice is inspired by nature, fantasy and the charm of everyday objects, driven by their vivid imagination.

Ömer Öner Ceramics 

Ömer Öner Ceramics creates handmade porcelain homeware and gift objects that celebrate craftsmanship, originality, and thoughtful design. Each piece is individually made, offering distinctive, that add character and joy to everyday living.

Sabrina Bisi

Sabrina Bisi is a London-based designer and maker. Her practice is characterised by vivid colour and sustained exploration of freedom, consciousness, and the space between the inner self and outer experience. Sabrina’s work has a note of retro nostalgia, with contemporary style and harmonious forms.

Heidi Inez Illustrates

Heidi Inez Illustrates combines her love of ceramics and fashion to create vibrant, contemporary homeware pieces. Heidi’s ceramics rare both decorative and fully functional. Each piece is one of a kind, handdrawn and painted directly onto green and bisqueware.

Saffy McNamara

Saffy McNamara is a London based Knitwear Designer making playful and graphic accessories, garments and homewares inspired by storytelling and folklore. Their pieces are all made in the UK, either by hand in their London studio or in collaboration with UK manufacturers.

Verena Mueller

Verena Mueller creates fun, uplifting illustrations designed to bring a little more joy into people’s everyday lives. Through bold colours, thoughtful design, and hand-drawn lettering, she creates meaningful pieces that help people feel more connected to themselves and others.

ZUMIZUMI

ZUMIZUMI is a London-based pet lifestyle brand created by Mindy Du, that merges quirky British aesthetic with the functional demands of modern city living. Their mission is to enrich the everyday lives of pets and their parents, offering thoughtfully crafted essentials.

Alice Beckett Ceramics

Alice Beckett Ceramics aims to put the fun in function by creating playful, handcrafted tableware that brings joy to everyday rituals.

Handmade in London, each piece balances sculptural form with practicality, encouraging lasting connections between people and the objects they use.

About not just a shop

Based in Holborn, London, not just a shop sells design products and artwork created by University of the Arts London students and alumni to the public. 


It exists to support students who want to run their own product-based businesses by teaching them about working with retailers.

We operate a not-for-profit model, so all proceeds are reinvested back into running the shop and supporting students and graduates from all UAL Colleges with their businesses.
