In 1919 an art school was formed in Germany, one that would go on to have a profound influence on art and interior design over the following century. That school was called The Bauhaus.
The Bauhaus was a crafts and fine arts institution that held the mission of combining the arts with architecture and interior design. Inspired by the movement of modernism, the signature look of The Bauhaus was comprised of circular shapes, angular frames and abstract blocks of primary colours. This style has continued to be popular over the years, and is now seeing a resurgence in light of the 100-year anniversary of Bauhaus, which the world of interior design will be celebrating in 2019.
All the furniture and homeware in this selection will help you celebrate 100 years of this influential movement, whilst leaving your home looking arty and sophisticated at the same time.
