Natural Fibres, Timeless Design: J.J. Textile's New Striped Blankets

Inspired by beach huts, wildflower meadows and the changing colours of the British countryside, J.J. Textile has introduced a new collection of three striped blankets for summer. Designed in-house by textile designer Jurate Jakstaite, each blanket combines cheerful seasonal colour with enduring quality and craftmanship that has become synonymous with the independent British brand.

Made in small batches from an 80% wool and 20% cotton blend, these blankets champion natural fibres over synthetic alternatives. Soft, machine washable and designed to be treasured for years rather than replaced each season, they offer a thoughtful approach to home furnishings at a time when fast-made, mass-produced textiles increasingly dominate the market.

Based in the tiny village of Catton in Derbyshire, UK, J.J. Textile is a small family-run business known for creating distinctive home accessories inspired by nature and the British countryside. Each design begins in-house, resulting in unique pieces that bring colour, character and lasting quality to everyday spaces.

About J.J. Textile

JJ Textile began with a childhood in Lithuania, surrounded by animals, and summers spent at a grandparents' orchard watching the seasons turn. That love of the natural world followed founder Jurate Jakstaite through art school, a textile degree in Vilnius, and a master's in Helsinki - where, weaving a daily diary of colour and texture, she discovered what textiles could really be: not just fabric, but a way of expressing something.

After a decade designing for Scandinavian textile brands, Jurate moved to Britain. The rolling fields and quiet grey mornings worked their way into her sketchbook, and JJ Textile was born - animals from her Lithuanian childhood meeting the countryside she'd come to love in Britain.

Today, every blanket, cushion and throw starts the same way it always has: a hand-drawn design, rooted in nature, brought to life by trusted Lithuanian manufacturers in pure wool or wool-cotton blends. Wool, to us, isn't a trend - it's a conviction. Renewable, breathable, and better with age, it's the most honest material we know.

Happy living in the woollen world.
