British independent textile brand J.J. Textile has launched two new colourways for autumn - Olive Green and Chestnut - both available now ahead of the season.

The new colourways are additions to two of the brand's bestselling designs, hand-drawn by founder and textile designer Jurate Jakstaite and woven in 100% pure wool. The olive green and chestnut shades were chosen to reflect the palette of the countryside in autumn - the rich green of moss on stone walls, the turning leaves in an array of vivid colours, the warm earthy browns.


Both throws are fully reversible, finished with a wool fringe and are designed to last a lifetime rather than a season only.

"Autumn is when our throws really come into their own," says Jurate. "There's something about the countryside at this time of year - the colours, the quality of the light, the feeling of the landscape settling into itself. I wanted these new colourways to capture that."

About the throws

The Sheep Wool Throw in Olive Green and the Horse Wool Throw in Chestnut are both woven in 100% pure wool, fully reversible with the inverted colourway on the reverse and finished with a cream wool fringe. Both measure 130 x 190 cm.

About J.J. Textile

JJ Textile began with a childhood in Lithuania, surrounded by animals, and summers spent at a grandparents' orchard watching the seasons turn. That love of the natural world followed founder Jurate Jakstaite through art school, a textile degree in Vilnius, and a master's in Helsinki - where, weaving a daily diary of colour and texture, she discovered what textiles could really be: not just fabric, but a way of expressing something.


After a decade designing for Scandinavian textile brands, Jurate moved to Britain. The rolling fields and quiet grey mornings worked their way into her sketchbook, and JJ Textile was born - animals from her Lithuanian childhood meeting the countryside she'd come to love in Britain.
