The Chinese did not use chests of drawers until recent times as they instead stored clothes in cabinets or trunks. This chest is therefore not strictly a reproduction but instead our own modern interpretation, still with a strong oriental style. The four full width drawers are mounted on metal runners to give an easy action when they are opened and closed.
