DeepL TranslateOur best-selling Love Story Collection captures a moment, a feeling, an emotion. Inspired by the infinite beauty of our finite world, the furniture pieces are romantic and sophisticated, exuding elegance and tactility.
A love affair of our very own, all items are designed in-house and crafted exclusively for French Bedroom.
The Love Story Blue Velvet Upholstered French Bed is a tale of craftsmanship and comfort in equal measure. The bed is crafted from a hand-finished solid oak framework, and stained with a matt-satin varnish to enhance the organic grain and natural medullary rays within the oak. The gently curved headboard is upholstered in easy-care, muted French blue velvet and finished with elegantly slim double-piped trim that gives a timeless and romantic aesthetic. Even the reverse of the headboard is upholstered in blue velvet, ensuring beauty from every angle.
The low footboard has been thoughtfully designed to sit intentionally level with our mattress height, so you have the aesthetic benefit of a footboard, without disturbing taller bedfellows.
Like all natural materials, oak has inherent disparities in colour and grain pattern, so each piece of wood used to make this bed will have its own unique variation that will include knots, black lines, tiger grain, medullary rays, colour variation or shadowing. No two pieces will be an exact match, enhancing the unique characteristics and warmth of this piece.
Velvet is a luxurious upholstery fabric known for its soft texture and rich appearance. Due to the nature of this material, you may notice some temporary shading or ‘bruising’ on the velvet when it is first unboxed. This can occur during packaging and transit, where the velvet pile may be lightly pressed in different directions. Please be assured that this is not a fault, but rather a natural characteristic of velvet upholstery. The nap of the velvet will reflect light differently depending on the direction it lies, which can create variations in shading. In most cases, this can be quickly and easily resolved by gently brushing the fabric with a velvet or soft upholstery brush, to realign the pile and restore the velvet’s uniform appearance. Light steaming (without direct contact) can also assist if needed. Over time, with normal use, the velvet will naturally settle and develop its intended finish.
