Description

Shandong, circa 1920 - the beautiful carved apron at the bottom of this cabinet provides a wonderful decorative feature, elevating the otherwise simple design into something unique. The open carvings feature a longevity symbol placed centrally, flanked at either side by a deer - also a symbol in China for long life as well as wealth and nobility. The cabinet's doors slot directly into the frames above and below on wooden dowels and are fitted with simple handles, creating a pure, sleek aesthetic that would fit easily in any interior. The finish has been updated, with a blue green lacquer over the original, and a single removable shelf has been fitted inside.
