This version comes in a rich red lacquer, decorated with a traditional design in gold leaf showing flowers and animals. The cabinet is a reproduction of pieces typically produced in Shanxi province in central China for hundreds of years and includes shaped brass hardware on the doors. As was the practice throughout China where clothes were folded inside cabinets rather than hung on rails, our cabinet includes a fixed shelf inside with two small drawers as well as two extra removable shelves. A further removable shelf hides a 'secret' compartment behind the bottom panel.
