Sow in to 9cm pots 1.5cm deep, two seeds per pot, using a multipurpose or sowing compost, January-March, and water well. Seedlings will usually appear after 12-21 days. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out 30cm apart in well drained soil, or containers filled with peat free multipurpose compost. Needs a sunny spot. Provide bamboo canes or a trellis as support for the climbing stems.
Regular picking for enjoying in your home will encourage more flowers and prevent plants from setting seed. Protect young plants from slugs.
