DeepL TranslateThis is a fabulous, Art Deco, 1930s Chest of Drawers with lovely details. The fluted moulding on the front and the swirled flourish on the feet make this a really striking piece. Not only is it good to look at, it also offers great storage, with 4 good sized drawers.
When we found this it was looking rather tired, with modern handles that really detracted from the beautiful 1930s style and design . The first thing we did was to source handles much more in keeping with its age and we think these work perfectly.
We chose to paint this in a gorgeous soft cream - the perfect neutral! This beautiful colour is a custom blend of 2 Fusion Mineral Paint colours; Limestone and Champlain. The fluted moulding and inner circle detail on the feet have been highlighted with Posh Chalk Pigments in Lemon Gold. We have added layers of a matt varnish to give added protection. The insides of the drawers have been cleaned and refreshed with Orange Oil and the sides of the drawers have been waxed to ensure they run well.
This is a beautiful piece of furniture that would fit perfectly into a vintage home, but would work equally well in a more contemporary setting. It truly is a striking piece of 1930s history and definitely a one-of-a-kind!
