Make your evening sparkle with these five prosecco cocktail recipes

Prosecco is known to be an incredibly popular alcoholic beverage in the UK, so it’s only fitting that National Prosecco Day (Saturday 13th August) is acknowledged. With its affordable price point coupled with its vibrant and crisp taste, it’s no surprise that more and more prosecco cocktails are being crafted and enjoyed.

Here is a collection of great prosecco cocktails that are sure to level up your cocktail game. The best part is that you can easily make them all with the VonHaus range of barware and cocktail sets.

Negroni Sbagliato

Renowned for its strong herbal flavour, the Negroni is a classic – but this one has a twist.

Invented in the 70s in Bar Basso, Milan, a barman accidentally added sparkling wine instead of gin when making a Negroni. And the Negroni Sbagliato* was born. (*Italian for mistaken Negroni)

Sip your Negroni Sbagliato from a whisky tumbler to allow the vapours to rise and enhance the flavour experience.

INGREDIENTS

25ml sweet vermouth
25ml Campari
25ml prosecco
Orange peel for garnish

METHOD

Add ice to your whisky tumbler
Pour the sweet vermouth, Campari, and Prosecco and stir gently to allow the flavours to mix
Squeeze your orange peel over the drink to infuse the drink with citrus oils.
Rub the outside of the peel on the glass rim, twist and then add to the glass

Sgroppino – Prosecco Lemon Sorbet

This can be a champain to make, but it's a must if you're looking for an exciting vodka prosecco cocktail to get the party started.

When making prosecco cocktails with vodka, the vodka acts as a neutral base, allowing the sparkling wine’s fruity flavours to come through.

INGREDIENTS

25ml vodka
80ml prosecco
1 scoop of lemon sorbet
Mint leaves
Lime wedge

METHOD

     1. Add the sorbet to a bowl and pour over the prosecco and vodka
     2. Whisk until the icy mixture becomes smooth
     3. Pour into a champagne flute and garnish with mint leaves and the lime wedge

Prosecco Margarita

A familiar favourite to liven up your party, serve in a Moscow Mule Mug to keep your cocktail ice-cold all night long!

INGREDIENTS

50ml white tequila
25ml fresh lime juice
25ml Cointreau
100ml prosecco
25ml agave syrup (or sugar syrup)
Coarse salt
Lime wedge for garnish

METHOD

    1. Pour the salt onto a flat plate
    2. Rub a lime on the glass/mug’s rim and rub the rim on the salt until coated
    3. Add ice to your cocktail shaker and pour in the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and agave syrup
    4. Shake well; you’ll know it’s mixed when the shaker becomes very cold
    5. Add ice into your mugs, pour in the cocktail mix and add the prosecco
    6. Add your lime wedges for that tangy flavour

Cucumber Coupe

Gin is the spirit to sip at the moment, so why not mix it with prosecco for a delicious cocktail with a twist?

Serve this prosecco cocktail in a large gin glass for effortless presentation.

INGREDIENTS

100ml prosecco
60ml gin
25ml fresh lemon juice
25ml sugar syrup
3 cucumber slices
Mint leaf for garnish

METHOD

    1. Lightly muddle two cucumber slices in your cocktail shaker
    2. Add ice and pour in the prosecco, gin, lemon juice, and sugar syrup. Shake vigorously until the shaker is        cold
    3. Double strain into the gin glass
    4. Add the mint leaf and cucumber slice for garnish

Prosecco Mojito

National Rum Day comes only three days after prosecco’s holiday, so why not combine the two with one of the world’s favourite cocktails?

Pour this one into a highball glass for an authentic presentation.

INGREDIENTS

100ml prosecco
50ml white rum (we recommend Bacardi due to its balanced taste)
25ml sugar syrup
25ml fresh lime juice
Mint leaves for garnish
Lime wedges for garnish (Freeze beforehand for best results)

METHOD

    1. Add ice to your highball glass and cocktail shaker
    2. Pour the prosecco, rum, sugar syrup, and lime juice into your cocktail shaker and shake well
    3. Strain into your highball glass and add the lime wedges
    4. Serve and enjoy your Bacardi Mojito!

Create an epic summer charcuterie with cheese board ideas from VonHaus

We all love a BBQ during summer – but what about the humble charcuterie or cheese board? There’s nothing better than putting together lots of delicious meats and cheeses and pairing them with your favourite wine on a warm day. Charcuterie boards can even be done on a budget, which means you don’t need to splash out – which is ideal for large get-togethers.

With National Cheese and Wine Day coming up on Monday (25th July), it’s the perfect time to think about putting on a show-stopping spread. VonHaus has a great range of cheese boards and barware that will make your charcuterie or buffets look stylish and professional.

Raised Herringbone Platter Board

With an elegant herringbone finish, this raised platter board is a must-have for charcuteries and buffets this summer.

The platter’s solid bamboo body provides a durable surface to display your food, and its raised design helps free up table space.

Round Cheese Board & Knife Set
Cut and serve cheese the stylish way with this on-trend Round Cheese Board & Knife Set.

Constructed from tough acacia wood with an integrated slate board, it’s the perfect choice for presenting your favourite cheeses. There’s even a concealed tray that slides out to reveal four different cheese knives, which means everyone can help themselves.

Hammered Stainless Steel Wine Cooler

As everyone will know, cheese and wine are the ultimate pairing – so it’s important to have your wine cooled ready for
your charcuterie.

Level up your home party serving game with this stunning Hammered Stainless Steel Wine Cooler. This 1.5L capacity cooler will stand out subtly in any kitchen, and most importantly help you serve up a refreshingly cold glass of wine.

Set of 4 Grey Tinted Wine Glasses

Characterised by clean lines, smooth edges and a smoked grey tint, these glasses are a stylish choice for your favourite wine and are suited for parties and get-togethers.

The set of 4 means there are plenty of glasses to go round and they’re big enough to safely hold your wine whilst eating and socialising.

Bamboo Cheese Board with Knives

Perfect for any cheese connoisseur, this square cheese board and knife set is ideal for those who want to go with a ‘grazing table’ look, as you can easily stack food around the edge in the cracker serving border.

This set also comes with a hidden slide out tray, which stores the specialist cheese tools neatly until you need to use them.

Brushed Gold Drinks Tray

If you’re the host with the most, this stunning tray is the perfect helping hand when it comes to putting on a spread for a party or get-together.

Save yourself multiple trips to and from the kitchen with this 33cm tray, strong enough to cater for multiple glasses or other items such as food and serveware.

Rebecca Connell, one of the expert buyers at VonHaus, commented:

“Charcuterie and grazing boards are food trends we’ve seen rise in popularity over the years, especially during summer.

Summertime is the perfect time to put on a spread for your family and friends, and this can be done easily with all your favourite foods and just a couple of items.

You can use platter boards or cheese boards to display your food offering in a stylish way, creating a miniature grazing table that will go down a treat with guests.

Eye-catching barware such as wine glasses, wine coolers and even cocktail sets help to add that something extra when it comes to serving drinks, making the hosting process a whole lot easier.”
