The liquorice Easter Egg

































Lakrids Easter Egg – Organic Vanilla Mango Chocolate Coated Liquorice 300g, £19.70, souschef.co.uk

Inside the Vanilla Mango Aegg you'll find individual balls of Lakrids liquorice which has been slow-cooked, giving it a firmer texture and a rich, almost toffee-like flavour.

 

The liquorice is then wrapped in a generous layer of creamy white chocolate, delicately flavoured with vanilla and mango powder. The gentle tropical notes are fantastic with the dark liquorice – reminiscent of a rum and mango cocktail!







































Lakrids Easter Egg – Crispy Caramel Chocolate Coated Liquorice 300g, £17.90, souschef.co.uk

Each of these dramatically black little balls holds a centre of soft, sweet liquorice wrapped in silky smooth dulce caramelised chocolate. The eggs are held in a thin, crispy shell which is finished with Maldon sea salt flakes and a dusting of raw liquorice powder.

 

The combination is a wonderful marriage of sweet-salty flavours and soft-crunchy textures. You’ll find one is never enough! The eggs are decorated with silver speckles for the final elegant touch.

 
























About Lakrids by Bülow

Lakrids liquorice comes all the way from one of the finest liquorice producers in Denmark, the home of liquorice. In 2007, Lakrids started as the dream of Johan Bülow, who didn’t understand why liquorice was so rarely blended with other flavours. Nor why liquorice had traditionally been made using wheat flour, instead of a gluten free flour. It turns out that both are very difficult!

 

But with much trial and error, Johan Bülow started to produce some of the finest liquorice in the world. Lakrids liquorice is only made with gluten free rice flour, and he treats liquorice as a spice – one which enhances and perfectly complements other flavours.

Easter’s answer to Christmas panettone, colombas are made using natural sourdough fermentation methods to create light, soft, enriched dough. The sweet bread is often flavoured with candied orange peel and dried fruit – topped with sugar and almonds.
