Bobo1325 unveils Manchester-inspired Cottonopolis

Manchester-based design house Bobo1325 is paying homage to the industrial past of its home city in new design Cottonopolis.

Featuring a plethora of luscious foliage, including laurels and nettles, the design puts the cotton plant in the spotlight in honour of Manchester’s role in the industrial revolution of the 19th century.

Created by Bobo1325 founder Beth Travers, the design heralds a new direction for the maximalist designer, who is renowned for her darker, more brooding designs.

Beth said: “I really wanted to create something that showed a different side of me and my work and Manchester, which is a very multi-dimensional city, was the perfect inspiration. It is a city at the heart of the industrial revolution and one that has continued to innovate and push forward.

“This design has a unique softness among my collection while still capturing the essence of Bobo1325. It is suitable for minimalists looking for a subtle colour pop and maximalists who love bold pattern.”

Cottonopolis, which is priced at £180 per roll, is available now from bobo1325.com

£180 per roll

This soft yet striking design is inspired by England's rich history and textile heritage. It features an array of British foliage from cotton to laurels to nettles.
This design has a unique softness making it suitable for minimalists looking for a subtle colour pop and maximalists who love bold pattern.
The soft eggshell of the background acts as a fresh canvas reminiscent of the first signs of springtime and is the perfect delicate base for the intricate hand drawn foliage upon it.

Friend or foe?

A British design house famed for its maximalist wallpapers has launched a new colourway of one of its signature prints.

Frenemy is the latest addition to the Bobo1325 wallpaper library and is a new take on a Bobo classic.

Resplendent in rich teal with pops of red, pink and green, Frenemy is a tale of two halves. Dominated by more macabre elements including skulls and skeletons, it is juxtaposed with fresh spring flowers and beautiful greenery.

Beth Travers, the founder of Bobo1325 and the designer behind Frenemy, said: “This is a design inspired by Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart and I wanted to show how people have this unique ability to be their own best friend and worst enemy.

“It explores the light and darkness within us all and shows that the human psyche can be hauntingly beautiful as well as complex.”

Frenemy is the fourth incarnation of the design; it is also available in Frenemy Hues,  Frenemy Midsummer Night and Frenemy Warm Amber.

Frenemy is printed with eco-friendly inks on a non-woven substrate, with all papers sourced from FSC certified suppliers.

It is available from bobo1325.com
