The Australian Good Design Awards, the country's most prestigious design and innovation accolades, with roots dating to 1958, celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2023. These awards recognise outstanding professional design and highlight the significant impact a design-focused approach has on business success and social and environmental outcomes. They cover 11 design domains, spanning 35 categories, acknowledging excellence in various fields, including architectural design, engineering, fashion, and digital design. The awards also encourage emerging areas, such as design strategy, social impact design, and design research, while nurturing young talent. This year, they received over 900 submissions, evaluated by a panel of over 70 experts, including designers, engineers, architects, and thought leaders, based on criteria like Good Design, Design Innovation, and Design Impact.
The Good Design Awards Jury commented: "We often see purifiers as floor-standing items that are shuffled around the room. No matter how good they look, they consume valuable floor space! However, by incorporating an air purifier into a ceiling fixture, the Sanso EvOne has successfully challenged the rather unattractive status-quo. It presents a great marriage of functionality and integration in the home, and we see it becoming a staple in minimal interior designs. Great job."
