A mid-grey joint holds the drawing together, where white can make the grid busier than the pattern itself. Layout: Start the grid from the sight line as you enter the room, so the first thing anyone sees is a full tile rather than a cut one. Cleaning: Treat the tiles with a suitable sealer before grouting begins, then treat them again once the joints are finished and residue has been sponged away. Wash with a pH-neutral product and rinse. Steam and strong alkaline cleaners are unnecessary here and are harder on the grout than on the porcelain.
