Don’t rub, as this can cause the stain to set, and rubbing can fray the natural Jute fibres. Gently brush with a soft brush and water as immediate treatment. Dry immediately with a hairdryer or fan to avoid damage. If the stain is acidic, use soda water instead of water. For solids, gently scrape it off with a blunt knife or spatula. Occasional cleaning from a professional rug cleaning service is recommended. Please note: Over time, it is common for jute rugs to shed due to the natural fibres.
