We have reimagined our beautiful bolga market baskets in miniature, for our littlest customers! OBUTU is a classic round shopping basket with a leather-bound carry handle, in natural undyed elephant grass.

Children will delight in filling their baskets with sweets and treasures, taking them out on shopping trips and role playing at home. Keep your mini bolga basket in the kitchen filled with real fruit, beg or eggs, or use them as woven storage baskets for small toys, craft materials, pens and pencils, jewellery or knick knacks.

Woven in Northern Ghana by members of a small weaving cooperative, these baskets are produced from indigenous and sustainably sourced elephant grass. Basket weaving is a sustainable source of income for these 200 artisans during the dry seasons when farming often fails to sustain a family. Basket weaving within the cooperative helps men and women earn a reliable and fair income to help support their families, pay school fees and medical bills.
