A spectacular gathering of traditional sailing boats fills Mount’s Bay in this large original painting by acclaimed Cornish artist John Dyer. St Michael’s Mount rises beyond the colourful sails, while beneath the turquoise water a mother dolphin swims alongside her calf.

Inspired by the classic working and sailing boats associated with the Sea Salts and Sails Festival at Mousehole, the painting celebrates Cornwall’s rich maritime heritage and the extraordinary natural environment of Mount’s Bay. Red and white sails move across the water, while a bold, billowing Cornish flag sail gives the scene an unmistakable sense of place.
