Description

The owners of this Victorian home in Newbury wanted to transform their existing en-suite into a light, bright and luxurious room. To maximise the layout, the clients decided to reconfigure the first floor of their home, re-apportioning some space from a bedroom to create a larger footprint for the en-suite.
Key for these clients was to incorporate a large walk-in shower and this was created along the back wall of the room for maximum effect. The large rainfall shower head was chosen to provide a sumptuous and pampering shower experience whilst the matching satin gold hand shower offer a practical way to clean the shower space.
Warm neutral tiles were chosen throughout the space but the different shapes, sizes and layouts add interest. The metro tiles in the shower were laid in a herringbone format to draw the eye in and further enhance the focal point of the shower.

A new trend emerging across British homes is transforming conventional bathroom design – one that eschews the traditional bath in favour of a sleek, modern shower. Data from leading bathroom design specialists Ripples reveals a resounding shift, with 90% of recent projects featuring a shower and over three-quarters of new bathrooms designed as dedicated shower spaces, driven by the need to maximise precious square metreage and lower both water and energy use compared to filling a large bath.
