A tought fern that is ideal for that shady spot in the garden. Rich green fronds give it that classic fern look.
Plant position - Any location
Any type of soil - Well drained
Dig soil improver in to the soil. Dig a hole twice as big as the pot, remove the pot from the rootball and place in the hole, ensuring the top of the plant roots is level with the soil surface. Backfill soil around the roots and water well
Water regularly in dry spells during the growing season
Soil pH - Acid to neutral
H5 - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters (-15 to -10°C)
Features and benefits
This is a semi evergreen variety of fern.
Ferns prefer a shade or dappled shade and moist but well drained soil.
They appreciate annual applications organic material, such as well-rotted garden compost, in late winter for few years after planting
These ferns produce a sheaf of bright green, triangular fronds emerges from below ground in early spring
