Elizabeth Bessant is an award-winning artist who lives and works in London.

She started her career as a silkscreen printmaker in the 1980s’ quickly establishing her

reputation with exhibitions at the Royal Academy, and many UK galleries plus international

exhibitions in New York, LA and Paris. Work in private and public collections includes Rank Xerox, Nestle, Greek Embassy, Tredegar House and Newport Municipal Museum and Galleries.

Her journey has taken her through 28 years as a couture designer where fashion

became her medium of expression dressing society women, couture brides and

celebrities. Now she focuses on her individualistic collages and paintings. Elizabeth

appeared in Sky Arts ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’ in 2022.

Exhibitions in her early career include: Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Royal West of England Academy, Royal Society of Graphic Artists’, Medici Society, New York Art Expo, and California Art Expo to name but a few.

By 1987 she was already listed in Who’s Who in International Art. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Artists in 2018.

Recent exhibitions include a solo exhibition at Ad Lib Gallery, Wimbledon, Women in Art Fair, Royal Society of British Artists, and The Society of Graphic Arts all at The Mall Galleries, London.

She is represented by Wine Art Gallery in New Orleans.

Elizabeth says: ‘It’s the artist’s role to continually question and influence how people

perceive the world.’
