About
Inglis Hall was founded by Toby Inglis Hall in 2013 with the simple aim of putting the craft back into contemporary kitchens. Contentment into the everyday.
The definition of the buy less, buy better, every Inglis Hall kitchen is guaranteed for life, designed and made not just to impress but to endure, for those with an appreciation of materiality and quality and a respect for thorough British skill.
Inglis Hall kitchens are fundamentally different. Textures and techniques borrowed from Founder Toby’s time as a timber-framed carpenter fuse with the precision of cabinet-making. A combination of ancient craft meets modern sensibility. A celebration of the band-sawn oak which is a subtle element of the signature of Inglis Hall.
It always starts with a conversation.
Whether at our High Street Showroom in Lewes, or immersed amongst the wood at our workshop just up the road. The conversation can be long, lateral and philosophical. It can be direct, concise and pragmatic. The best manage to be both. This is the start of your unique kitchen story.
Every element of our kitchen cabinetry is built to order by Inglis Hall makers, at our Sussex workshop.
It has become fashionable to describe a person, or a company, as makers. There are makers and, well, there are makers. We take the term seriously. It is not about assembling components manufactured elsewhere. It is not about packaging up brought in work and despatching it with your identity on the box.
It is about an honest, authentic and absolute commitment to making.
