Luxurious and stylish house sign designs
Selene Signs collaborates with Francesca Grace Design Studio
Selene Signs is delighted to announce a new range of luxurious and stylish house signs using designs from Francesca Grace Design Studio. Drawing from the rich range of patterns on soft furnishings by Francesca Grace, the signs offer bold and non-traditional ideas for anyone open to unique personalised designs for their front door, home or garden signage.
There are three signs in the range, all in a circular shape:
‘Stretching Cat’ features resident studio cat Evie, a pretty little tortie reaching out for a feather. She is emerging from a bed of beautiful flowers including dahlias and clematis reproduced in glowing colour. The border and house number are in gold, with the sign printed on silver brushed aluminium to give a subtle sheen to the design.
‘Bird of Paradise’ shows a colourful bird with predominantly orange feathers that contrast perfectly against the deep blue and cream circles of the design. The bird’s shadow cleverly extends into the outer border, giving a three-dimensional feel. It is printed on glossy white aluminium for vibrant colour reproduction.
‘Soaring Birds’ is a bold, deep yellow sign including two of Francesca Grace’s signature blue birds with wings outspread. The birds with their shadows give the appearance of flight and add an extra dimension. It is printed on glossy white aluminium for strong colours.
All signs from Selene can be personalised with numbers and wording, for an address sign or as a gift. They are weatherproof and fade resistant, with exceptional detail and colour reproduction. Made from lightweight aluminium, they need no DIY skills to put them up, attaching to most flat surfaces using the supplied hook and loop pads, and will stay fixed throughout storms and all weathers.
Francesca McLeod, founder of Francesca Grace, says: “My background is fine art, and each design draws upon this experience and study in my other life as a painter. The images started out as pen and paper drawings or paintings before being digitally embellished to give the striking results you see here. Our collaboration with Selene Signs is an exciting expansion of the range of products on which our designs appear.”
Sheila Gimson, director of Selene Signs, says: “I was impressed with the sumptuous quality of the Francesca Grace images, which combine animals and flowers in designs that will appeal to anyone who wants maximum colour and art in their lives. They are far from traditional designs considered suitable for house signage, and we encourage everyone to look beyond the ordinary.”
The circular signs measure 20 cm diameter and cost £45.00 including VAT. The price includes personalisation with house number, name or choice of lettering. Delivery is normally within 5-7 working days from order within the UK.
Selene Signs’ ranges include images under exclusive licence from UK designers and photographers, as well as Selene’s in-house designs based on ceramics and vintage images. The company can also personalise customers’ photographs to make a unique house sign, as well as working with your own ideas for a completely bespoke sign.

I set up Selene Signs as a retirement project, to bring fresh, unique and colourful designs to the house sign market, and found the right printers who combine lightfastness, high quality reproduction and a wide choice of shapes and sizes. We work with established designers, illustrators, and other sources who have given us exclusive rights to use their beautiful images as house signs or wall plaques. I’m also learning graphic design myself so I can bring my own ideas to fruition, as well as personalising the signs for our customers.”

Retro green and brass distressed look house signs
Selene Signs launches nostalgic range for homes, sheds – and Dads?
Selene Signs has launched a new range of green and brass house signs, with a nostalgic look that will appeal to anyone who wants an industrial, retro or vintage look for their home, shed, garden building or garage. The signs come in rectangular sizes or a circular version, with lettering and border that appears brassy against a distressed green background. They can be personalised with wording such as ‘My Shed’ or ‘The Workshop’ as a special gift for Father’s Day, or as reproduction railway signs for enthusiasts.

“I took the colour from a green watering can and reproduced it in a design with brass highlights,” says Sheila Gimson, director of Selene Signs. “I was inspired by everything from fading antiques to utility boxes on the street, and gave the artwork a roughed up feel, grittier than our normal flawless finish.”
Selene’s signs come in three rectangular sizes: 28 x 21 cm; 20 x 15 cm; and 15 x 10 cm, either landscape or portrait according to design; and circular 20 cm diameter. The rectangular signs have rounded corners for safe handling. At end of life the aluminium signs are recyclable in household waste streams, unlike acrylic (plastic), wood or stone signs.
Pricing starts at £26.00 for a 10 x 15 cm sign; £34.00 for 15 x 20cm; £45.00 for a 20 cm diameter circular sign; and £52.00 for a 21 x 28 cm sign.
