As a member of Surfers Against Sewage Ocean Network we support their goals to improve water quality, tackle plastic pollution, drive ocean recovery and confront the ocean and climate emergency.
7.7 billion single use plastic water bottles are used every year in the UK. The average Londoner uses 175 single use plastic bottles every year.
An average PET plastic water bottle has a carbon footprint equal to 0.081kg of CO2. Ohelo reusable bottles have a carbon footprint of 1.62kg CO2 – just 20 uses and it has a lower carbon footprint than single use PET.

• We use SAFER MATERIALS than almost all other brands – our bottles are LEAD FREE. Industry standard still uses a lead solder to seal the vacuum within the vessel. This is handled by the makers day in day out, which is not good for them or the environment. There is only 1 other bottle brand that we are aware of using lead free solder, and they are based in the USA. Most others are either unaware of this problem or go with industry standard as it is significantly cheaper to do so.
• 5% of profits to sustainable charities – we are a brand that always give back. We are a proud member of the Surfers Against Sewage Ocean Network – supporting them in their fight to clean up our seas and fight against plastic pollution
• Packaging is 100% plastic free, already recycled and is easily recyclable.
• Our distribution centre is 100% powered by renewable energy with an on-site solar farm
• Our factory has an on-site solar farm which provides up to 50% of it's power.
• Our products are ETHICALLY MADE. We are happy to provide you with our independent reports. We have a 4-pillar SMETA report as well as a BSCI report showing this.
• We use 25% thicker steel than is standard for manufacturing water bottles (0.5mm vs 0.4mm) to ensure our products are more durable, giving them a longer lifetime (which is so important for sustainable products).
• Our bottles bodies are fully and easily recycled. As most brands use lead solder in their bottle bodies this can cause contamination issues at recycling. Soft touch base pads also need to be separated before recycling.
