Creating a warm and welcoming hub of the home, this open-plan kitchen-dining-living area features the Classic Bespoke Shaker Camouflage kitchen by Searle & Taylor, the longest established kitchen design studio in Winchester, Hampshire. The design is part of a large rear extension to a 1920s bungalow in Haslemere, a historic market town in Surrey, and includes interior design by luxury interior design studio Wells and Maguire.
The owners wanted a generous island for cooking, which would not only serve the needs of their family but would also form a social hub when entertaining at home. Painted in Hague Blue by Farrow & Ball and topped with a single slab of 30mm thick Misty Carrara Satinato quartz, the 3.16m x 1.3m island includes a flush-fit Novy Panorama 90 vented downdraft induction hob and two single built-under ovens by Siemens.
The rest of the Shaker in-frame cabinetry shown is painted in Little Greene’s Portland Stone and includes a breakfast station with pocket doors next to the glazed panelled doors leading on to the garden and a glass-fronted display dresser behind the island, used for storing glassware and crockery. Handles throughout are from the Gaumont range by Armac Martin.
Allowing family and friends to socialise and creating a truly multifunctional space, this scheme also includes a dining table, chairs and bar stools by Andrew Martin and a striking pendant light by Heathfield & Co.
Classic Bespoke kitchens by Searle & Taylor start from £40,000. www.searle-taylor.co.uk
